If you happen to live in the Anaheim or Orange County area, there's a tea that will be hosted at the Muzeo in DownTown Anaheim this Sunday. There will be an outdoor Market Place with Tea samplings, mini-make overs as well as poetry readings. Janet and I will be there with a table set for tea. If you'd like more information click on the image above and you'll be re-directed to the Museums website... Hope to see you there!!

"A Mucked Up Tea"
Recently my friend Janet, who is one of the Pinkie Tea Founders, and who's husband came up with our name, attended a tea at the Muckenthaler Museum...this is her review.
The Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, also know as "The Muck", held a Mother's Day Tea on Sun., May 10, but it challenged my concept of a "tea". To begin with, the brochure which advertised the event was very confusing (to me, anyway!).
My friends & I were surprised when the afternoon consisted mainly of a ballet performance called "Danse Couture-how fashion changed dance" which took place in the outdoor theater.
There was a 10 minute intermission in which all the female attendees were supposed to make a Restroom Run and partake of the desserts created by Collette's Catering. The yummy food choices included a plate of four petite sweets and a slice of chocolate cake with a white chocolate wafer in top inscribed "Mother's Day"
The beverages offered were pink lemonade, iced tea, not-so-hot water and tea bags, and mimosas, with the choice of a plastic or paper cup.
Silly me, but I guess I was expecting more food for my money ($25 a person) as wall as a traditional "tea" experience (teapots, teacups & saucers, scones, etc.) The Muckenthaler mansion is a beautiful 1920's structure with lovely grounds so would have such great potential for a "tea party" atmosphere. Sadly, the Muck missed the mark.
Janet and I also attended a WONDERFUL tea back in March and you can read about it here:
Locke & Noble's Tea
I hope you enjoyed her review.

Pink Saturday at the Pinkie Teas

Today my pink post is about my sweet little collection of Bunnykins China from the Royal Doulton China Company of England.
I started collecting Bunnykins about 5 years ago when a dear friend gave me a mug as a Christmas gift. I was so enchanted by the little bunny dancing around the lip of the cup and was reminded of my own little bunny named Toodles.
I now have a small collection which consists of seven oatmeal bowls, six mugs, one cereal bowl, and five plates. In case your wondering why my collection is so small after 5 years, it's because I will only pay $5 per piece...those little bunnies are pretty pricey!
Many of the little bunny ladies are dressed in sweet pink dresses with darling little hats.
Would you like one of these delicious little shortbread cookies? They've been rolled in pink sugar. An idea that was inspired by my friend Marye Audet when she made these amazing Cherry Almond Kiss cookies. Just in case you'd like the recipe I've attached a link below.
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and don't forget to check out Marye's cookies.

Mad Hatters
Several weeks ago I had one of my friends and her two darling daughters over for tea. We all had to wear silly hats with big bows and flowers made from paper bags. Not that the bows were made from the bags, but the hats were. This is Amber graciously posing in her pink and lavender confection. I just love her!
Audry, Amber's oldest daughter, a true lady, seemed to get the most enjoyment out of swirling the soft pink sugar round and round in her cup until the crystals completely dissolved into the hot tea.We had an assortment of tea sandwiches including Black Forrest Ham with cranberry cream cheese...everyone's favorite, but I think the most popular food item was the clotted cream. We spread it on everything including the shortbread.
This is Halina, Amber's youngest who is so funny! Her favorite color is orange so of course she chose to wear the orange hat with the giant iridescent plum bow and the pink Dalia. She and Miss Coco became fast friends running and scampering about the house.
A sad looking tea table indeed for there's no food on the plates, but we really did eat and drink tea.Sweet hubby came in from the garage and commented that "silly hats really do level the playing field. Older women feel younger while younger girls get to feel older." Really, I think we all felt like we were 12 again . There's nothing more fun in life than sharing a tea party with darling companions and I have to say that the ones I had this day were the sweetest.
Don't you just love everyone's happy smiles?
